Carpenter Wins IBO Title

Sharon CarpenterThe first leg on the IBO National Triple Crown series was held May 16 – 18 in Bedford Indiana.  This is the first of three legs in the National Triple Crown.  A strong showing here helps to move the competitors into a good position to win the National Championship.  When the winners were announced, Sharon Carpenter won her second consecutive tournament of the season.

Sharon Carpenter has already had a great tournament season.  She was coming off a first place finish at the last ASA shoot and she carried that momentum over to this past weekend’s tournament. Carpenter turned in a score of 392-11 and not only captured her second win in as many tournaments, but she did so in convincing fashion.  Carpenter won the Pro Female class by an amazing 16 points! Mathews finished with six of the top ten finishers in the class.  The rest of the top ten included: Emily Veyna, 371-9, 4th place; Kailey Johnston, 364-6, 7th place; Ginger Morehead, 363-5, 8th place; Tina Huntzinger, 357-6, 9th place and Connie Calloway, 354-9 in 10th place.

In the Pro Senior class, the top Mathews finisher was Bill Sennick.  Sennick had a score of 398-13 and finished in third place.  Mathews finished with six of the top ten finishers in the class.  The rest of the top ten included Art Brown, 398-9, 4th place; Tipton Cook, 395-9, 5th place; Ray Young, 390-7, 6th place; Duane Price, 387-11, 8th place and Joe Brooks, 387-9 in 9th place.

In the Pro Male Release class, the top Mathews finisher was Brandon Reyes.  Reyes had a score of 408-16 and finished in fifth place.
