Jackie White Wins Iowa Pro/Am Title

The Iowa Pro/Am was held Jan 3-5 in Des Moines Iowa.  This is the first big indoor tournament of the season.  There are a large number of competitors for all over the country that make this their first warm up before the World Archery Festival.  When the winners were announce, Jackie White claimed his first win of the 2014 season.

Jackie White is a very strong competitor in the archery world and he proved once again just how strong he is.  This week, at the Iowa Pro/Am, White turned in a score of 684 and won the championship in the Senior Male Freestyle class.  White finished 9 points ahead of his closest competitor.  That is a huge margin when it comes to an indoor tournament.  Richard Smith finished in fifth place and a score of 673 and Tom Coblentz was in eighth place with a score of 669.

In the Male Freestyle class, the top Mathews finisher was Braden Gellenthien.  Gellenthien finished in third place with a score of 688.  He was only one point behind the winner.  Teammate Henry Bass was in fourth place with a score of 687.  Cody Thompson finished in seventh place with a score of 686.

In the Female Freestyle class, Sarah Lance was the top Mathews finisher.  Lance had a score of 678 and finished in second place.  Christie Colin finished in fifth place with a score of 674 and Tristan Skarvan was sixth with a score of 672.
