Team Mathews Continues Hot Streak in Indiana

The fifth shoot of the season for the ASA was held May 30th – June 1st in Auburn Indiana. As the summer has heated up, so has Team Mathews. Mathews shooters take the top three places in all four pro classes. Jeff Hopkins, Joseph Goza, Tom Crowe and Jeanna Allbritain took home top honors of the weekend.

For the second straight ASA shoot, Jeff Hopkins has taken home the championship. Hopkins turned in a score of 496 points and finished six points ahead of Colin Boothe. Bow finished in second place and Bob Eyler was third with 487 points. There were six Mathews shooters in the top ten. The rest of the top ten included: Richard Leftwich, 477 points, 5th place; Brian Luallen, 418 points, 6th place and Darrin Christenberry, 417 points in 8th place.

In the Limited Pro class, Joseph Goza captured his first title of the season. Goza entered the shoot down in third place, and turned on the afterburners to win by two points. Goza’s score of 454 was enough to hold off Jeff Wilson, who finished in second with a score of 452 points. Rodney Huffman was third with 451 points. There were a total of nine Mathews shooter in the top ten. The rest of the top ten included: Charlie Owens, 450 points, 4th place; Gene Curry, 435 points, 5th place; Charles Thomas, 380 points, 6th place; Ryan Leonard, 379 points, 7th place; Bob Besanceney, 378 points, 9th place and Brian Goza, 376 points in 10th points.

For the fourth time this season, Tom Crowe took home the title in Senior Pro. Crowe was the leader going into the shoot down and he held on to win the crown. Crowe finished with a score of 468; two points better then second place finisher Roger Thibault. Larry Odell finished third with a score of 465 points. There were nine Mathews shooters in the top ten. The rest of the top ten included: Eddie Benezue, 464 points, 4th place; George Pharis, 446 points, 5th place; Dan Renner, 408 points, 6th place; Derry Null, 407 points, 7th place; George Dixon, 405 points, 9th place and Charles Blankenship, 404 points in 10th place.

In the Women’s Pro class, Jeanna Allbritain claimed her second title of the season. Allbritain finished with a score of 461 points. Second place went to Connie Calloway with a score of 457 points. Linda Owen was third with a score of 456 points. Team Mathews finished with all ten of the top spots. In fact, Mathews shooters captured the top 17 places. The rest of the top ten included: Sherry Foreman and Kelly Ward finished in a tie for 4th place with a score of 453 points; Ginger Morehead, 394 points, 6th place; Alicia McHenry, 386 points, 7th place; Betsy Sennick, 382 points, 8th place; Tina Huntzinger, 382 points, 9th place and Susan Thompson, 381 points in 10th place.
