Morehead and Gibbs win NFAA Outdoor National Titles

The fifth shoot of the season for the NFAA was held July 22 – 26 in Watkins Glen, New York. When the scores were tallied, Ginger Morehead and Steve Gibbs won their respective classes.

For the fifth time this season, the second time at an NFAA shoot, Ginger Morehead finished the tournament in the top spot. Morehead turned in a score of 2769 points to win her fifth title of the year. Mathews shooters finished with five of the top seven positions. Joining Morehead in the top seven were: Connie Calloway, 2739 points, 3rd place; Linda Owen, 2727 points, 4th place; Susan Thompson, 2721 points, 5th place and Becky Pearson, 2717 points in 6th place.

In the Pro Male Freestyle Limited class, Steve Gibbs got his second win of the season. Gibbs turned in a score of 2567 points which was four points better then teammate Emory Budzinski who finished in second place.

In the Senior Pro Male Freestyle class, Mathews shooters finished with two of the top three places. George Dixon turned in a score of 2731 points to finish in second place. Frank Pearson had a score of 2726 points to finish in third.

The next shoot is hosted by the ASA and is the ASA/Mathews Solo Cam Illinois Championship and is held July 26 – 28 in Belknap, Illinois.
